Presentation of Award to Epworth and Isle of Axholme Rotary Club for Contribution to the Community.

Despite a very wet Bank Holiday Monday May 28th  members of Epworth and Isle Rotary Club turned out with the infamous Teddy Bears for a stand at Wesley Day to mark the TriCentennial of Charles Wesley's Birth. Rotarians were involved with marshalling the procession and naming Teddies on  the  Rotary stand. The Epworth and Isle of Axholme Army Cadets  ( The President's project for 2006-2007 ) were in  full kit to assist with numerous tasks. A lovely surprise was when Brigg and Goole M.P. Ian Cawsey came over to the stand and presented the Epworth and Isle of Axholme Rotary Club with the Fairclough Homes Trophy for "Contribution to The Community" and told us the decision had been unanimous that we should win this for our work in Epworth and on the Isle of Axholme. needless to say spirits lifted and the enclosed photographs show our great honour to receive this so early in the Club's life.
